Apartment Championship Wrestling has announced the reinstatement of the promotions champion Katie Anderson and number one challenger Katie Cummings. The two were reinstated after participating in a wild brawl that caused more than $8,000 worth of damage to a hotel. The reinstatements are effective immediately and the two a scheduled to fly to Japan for a highly anticipated title match.
“The decision to reinstate the girls was not an easy one. To be honest, if it wasn’t for the contractual obligations we had with our Japanese business partners, I probably would have kept the suspension in effect for another six months,” said ACW President Tanako X. “No matter how competitive they are or even how much they dislike one another, that should never have spilled over into public and put fans in potential danger. They did not represent ACW well that day.”
Anderson had been enjoying her time as the champion after defeated former champ Megan Jones for the belt, but her rivalry with Cummings had began to become very personal. Cummings, thought of to be an afterthought in the great rookie class that included Megan Jones, Jen Capone, Anderson, Kaila Ali and Galas Looner. She improved her grappling skills and used her curvy size as a weapon to climb her way up the ladder and now site as the biggest challenge to Anderson’s belt.
Recently, Cummings has been involved in an innovative marketing campaign, featured in billboards and telescreen advertisements across the United States. This added attention irriated the champion. “She’s really putting the cart before the horse… And if you look at her, her big ass should get used to dragging a cart around her,” said Anderson.
