Top-Ranked ACW competitor Daniella Cartier was seriously injured in an automobile accident last week and will be out of action for at least six months. Cartier, the number one contender for the disputed title belt was traveling along Interstate 57 in Illinois when her car hydroplaned and spun out of control striking a wall restraint and coming to rest after striking another barrier. Transported to a hospital by an Emergency Medical Services team, Cartier was found to have suffered broken ribs, a laceration of the left shoulder, a strained spinal cord and a detached patella. No one else was injured in the accident and no citations have been issued.
Cartier had recently become one of the most dominant performers in ACW, chalking up major wins against Paulina Persenko and Amber Mayfield and captured the Inter-Condiminuium and D-Cup titles after defeating Barbie Mayfield in August. As the number one contender, she may have been awarded the ACW title belt if it were to be declared vacant ( the title belt is currently held up due to the legal dispute between suspended champion 00Heaven and ACW) or at the very least she would have been the top seed in a championship title match.
An Adscape Memorial Hospital spokesman said that while Cartier’s injuries are not considered life-threatening, they are very serious and will requires months to rehabilitate. The most serious injury from a career standpoint is the patella injury as it will be very difficult to protect during apartment wrestling matches.
Ms. Cartier was unavailable for comment.
