Celina Vasquez never thought she would have a career as an apartment wrestler. The quiet Latina grew up in Gary, Indiana the youngest of three children. When she was 16 years old, she ran away from home with her boyfriend and moved to California. A year later, she was back in Gary, and living with her friend Angela Foster. Attending school part time, she waitressed at night to help to pay the rent. Her friend Angela tried to push her into modeling but Vasquez lacked the confidence and kept refusing. One day, however, Foster begged Celina to accompany her to a tryout with ACW. When Candy Sommers called in sick and couldn't attend the tryout, Foster volunteered her friend as a substitute wrestler. Taken off-guard, Vasquez did not have time to ponder the situation as Foster was hustling her into a bikini.
The two squared off and Celina surprised everyone by being the more impressive of the two. After initially being timid, she soon became enthralled in the action and almost pinned Foster several times. Both girls were signed by ACW and Celina's first match was against Taylor Wilson. It was her first match and almost her last as Taylor stomped her almost into unconsciousness. After three weeks of recovering, Celina matched up against Staci Jones, and surprised everyone by pinning her after 13 minutes. She won another match against Tabitha Van Dyne and another against Niki Foxe. Suddenly, ACW had a natural wrestler on their hands and she was put on a path towards the Inter-Condominium title hunt.
Matched up against top flight talent, Celina's inexperience began to show. She was humbled by Diane Hunter and was forced to tap out against Tiffani Jones. "Celina is pretty good, and she tries to bring it but she has to get in better shape and lose some of that baby fat." Celina took the advice to heart and began a training program. While she lost weight and began to have more stamina, she found herself mired in a losing streak and many believe she was on the verge of being released by the promotion. At this critical moment, she found herself matched up against veteran Dixie Monroe, Monroe, mired in her own losing streak, was the aggressor and Celina looked completely overwhelmed. Dixie tried to set her up for her famous "Rebel Yell" elbow smash off of the bed but miscalculated and missed, hitting her arm on the floor. A bewildered Vasquez regained enough composure to pin the crippled Monroe. With her career hanging by a thread, Celina looked for some guidance in the form of Tanako X. X worked with her extensively and improved, winning four matches in a row. Then, scandal erupted.
Taylor Wilson came out with allegations of sexual harassment and sexual liaisons going on within ACW. Subsequently, Tanako X stepped down from the promotion after disclosing that he had engaged in sexual relationships with a number of competitors, including Celina Vasquez. While Celina did not comment one way or the other about the validity of these allegations, she did begin to feel the heat and abruptly quit the promotion.
Two years later, Vasquez began to get the apartment wrestling itch and returned to the promotion. She has fared well in her return and vows to return to her form when she competed for the Inter-Condominium title but a new group of women have entered the promotion since her departure and she will face an uphill fight to return to prominence. Nonplussed, she says "Who would have believed I could make it in apartment wrestling in the first place? I don't think anything is impossible for me.
