Crediting her early success to her father's training regimen and the full-time support of her fitness staff (dubbed Team Dominique). She entered ACW with a flair, vying with ACW champion Heaven for the role of the most glamorous woman in the promotion. Dominique racked up an impressive 36 consecutive victories and then demanded a shot at Heaven's title belt.

Although warned by legendary trainer Tanako X that she was not yet ready to challenge Heaven, Dominique ignored his warnings, instead following the advice of her father, who suggested that Mr. X should mind his own business. In the days approaching the the big match, Dominique took New York City by storm, overshadowing Heaven by appearing on local television and radio shows and predicting victory on a cable access interview. While this seemed to rankle Heaven's nerves, Dominique's confidence continued to grow.
